Alan Jackson was born on October 17, 1958. He is an American country music singer, and songwriter, originally from Newnan, Georgia. He
gained popularity as the best-selling country musicians of the 1990s. He had worked in The Nashville Network's mail room.
Like the famous quote that behind every successful man is a woman so was the case with Jackson. His wife Denise made him meet Glen Campbell, who helped him jump start his career. His first album was released in 1990's Here in the Real World. It was a major hit, so was his second album "Dont rock the juke box" which was released in 1991.He released, A Lot About Livin' (And a Little About Love) in 1992 and it was a phenomenal success, having five major singles with "Chattahoochee" being the most successful of all.

After a few more hit albums, Jackson again reached the pinnacle of his career with his hit single on 9/11 terrorist attack on America "Where Were You".
Jackson has deep connections with the country music and he has recorded his songs with some of the greats like Charley Pride, who recorded "Here In The Real World". He has sung with George Jones for the award-winning "I Don't Need Your Rockin' Chair". Jakson is famous for his great sense of humor and his humor is evident through his satirical description of the wannabes who jumped on the country music bandwagon in the 1990s: "Everybody's gone country/Yeah we've gone country/The whole world's gone country."

His first single "Blue Blooded Woman" never made it past No. 45 on the country charts way back in 1989.

Alan Jackson was a car mechanic but always pursued the dream of making it big in the singing arena. His job as the mechanic eased his financial burden while he was still struggling as a singer. In 1985 Alan and his wife moved to Nashville, TN. As luck would have it Denise, Alan's wife was a flight attendant and met Glen Campbell on an airport. She introduced Alan to Glen and later Alan got the job of a songwriter at Campbell's music publishing company.

Jackson reached the No. 1 spot three times in 1991, with "I'd Love You All Over Again," "Don't Rock the Jukebox" and "Someday." In 1992, he released the spooky video for "Midnight in Montgomery," It won him a CMA Award. That same year, he was again on top with "Love's Got a Hold on You" and "She's Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues)." In 1993, he spent four weeks at the top with "Chattahoochee," which increased the corresponding album A Lot About Livin' (And a Little 'Bout Love) sales to more than 6 million copies. "Chattahoochee" won a CMA award for
single of the year in 1993 and song of the year in 1994.

Jackson co composed and produced major hits with others too, like are Randy Travis' "Forever Together" and "Better Class of Losers," Clay Walker's "If I Could Make a Livin'" and Faith Hill's "I Can't Do That Anymore."

In 2002, Jackson won his first Grammy, as best country song for"Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" . For the same song he won song of the year and single of the year CMA Awards in2002. He received the CMA's album of the year award for Drive as well as was named best entertainer of the year. Drive went on to sell 4 million copies, and the title track spent several weeks at No. 1 as well.

In 2003, Jackson released the two-CD Greatest Hits Volume II and Some Other Stuff and the single disc Greatest Hits Volume II. The album's
first single, "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," was a duet with Jimmy Buffett. The No. 1 hit was named vocal event of the year at the 2003 CMA
Awards and gave Buffett his first chart-topping single and his first major music award. That same year, Jackson won his second male vocalist
CMA award and his third CMA entertainer trophy.

In 2004, he again hit No. 1 spot with "Remember When" and toured arenas with Martina McBride.
Fifteen years into his career, Alan Jackson has sold more than 40 million albums and scored more than 30 No. 1 singles, 21 of which he either
wrote or co-wrote.
