He is the British record producer. This talented personality was born in 20th December, 1949. In the mid 70s he formed the Alan Parsons Project band. This was along with Eric Woolfson. This idea of the band was soon after he finished working as a audio engineer at Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon.
Right from his childhood, he knew that he was fond of music. When only a child he studied piano and flute. During his teens he started playing guitarists as solo as well as with the band at school level.

One of his first jobs were with the EMI tape duplication facility. This was in West London. This was the time when he came to experience the master tape of Beatles Sgt. Pepper album. Therein he was determined to be a recording engineer.

He says, " "I couldn't wait to find out the secrets behind the album. It left me totally in awe of the talent of The Beatles themselves of course, but also the work behind the scenes in the studio". With a perfect timing he landed in Abbey Road Studios. There he got significant experience in Beatles' Let It Be album, he also participated in the Apple rooftop session.
The Abbey Road album enabled him to mark with with the Fab Four, even though he was just an assistant engineer then.

After the knowledge of The Beatles, Alan engaged on a number of hits along with The Hollies. This included - He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother and The Air That I Breathe. With his engineering work on Pink Floyd's legendary Dark Side Of The Moon, his reputation was all consolidated, this also earned him Grammy nominations.

With the British band Pilot, he soon went on to production and had easy success with the hit single (You know - "Oh Ho Ho It's Magic!!"). With Cockney Rebel and John Miles, he had his other hits. He made three albums with Al Stewart. This spawned the hit singles Year Of The Cat and Time Passages.

He created the Alan Parsons Project with songwriter/manager Eric Woolfson. The project was a forum for a collection of vocalists and session players. Among them were Arthur Brown, ex-Zombie Colin Blunstone, Cockney Rebel's Steve Harley, the Hollies' Allan Clarke.

The project made the first appearance with Tales of Mystery and Imagination. This was the collection which was inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. For 'I Robot', Asimov was the inspiration. After Pyramid, he went on to record 'Eve' and this was the number one hit in Germany and then with "Lucifer" in 1979it was number one single.

The Monaco residence influenced The Turn of a Friendly Card. Games People Play and Time were the two top 20 hits.

1982's Eye in the Sky, were their most successful effort so far. The title track fetched th etop three slot. Other success that followed were:

Ammonia Avenue (1983),
Vulture Culture (1984),
Stereotomy (1985) and
Gaudi (1987)

Alan's music is now diverting into the world of Electronica. In his latest album there features a number of notables in this catagory including The Crystal Method, Shpongle, The Nortec Collective and Uberzone.

Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, also feature in the album as a guest artist. Alan says, "The industry is changing and I feel the need to capture a different kind of audience while still keeping my identity. Electronic music is the fastest growing music category right now and I'm enjoying working with new people and new technology".
