Background:
Alejandro Fernández is a Mexican performer who appeared on Sony Classical when he released Christmas in Vienna VI. This year Fernández has joined Domingo and French star Patricia Kaas to record live festivity from the Rathaus in Vienna where the Vienna Symphony Orchestra was conducted by Steven Mercurio. It was released in 1999 by Sony Classical.

Fernández has music in his veins as his father was also a singer so he grew up absorbing the purest Mexican music: rancheras and boleras. His father would take him onto the stage to sing. This ritual was repeated many years later at their first recording together, Amor de los dos (The Love of Both of Us). In 1991, Alejandro left his career as an architect and released e his solo debut with Alejandro Fernández. He had the classic Mexican style of music. Little by little he has worked his way back to his roots. His music has gained so much popularity because of the general popularity that the Mexican and Latin music has gained lately.

He was born in Mexico City, where his father carried out his recording career therefore Alejandro has always thought that he belonged in the same provinces. He moved to Guadalajara, where the ranchers and Mexican country music, are not just songs but a way of life.
