Background:
Anne Murray is a Canadian singer born in Springhill, Nova Scotia on June 20, 1945. She gained popularity for having a developed and a rich baritone and her unique choice of songs which are liked by pop, country and adult contemporary listeners alike. She was the first Canadian singer to reach #1 on the US charts. She debuted in 1970 with, "Snowbird" which reached the top ten on the US Pop charts. Not only this but her other numerous singles have been on the number one position and have chatrted well on various national and international music charts. During 1970s and early 80s, She has produced hit singles like the 1972 released hit which was titled "Danny's Song", a 1973 released song "A Love Song" (1973), a remake of the Beatles' which was released in 1974 and was titled "You Won't See Me", a 1976 release "The Call", 1978 release "You Needed Me", 1979 hit single "Shadows in the Moonlight." She produced many similr hits over the 70's but her poularity went down by the 80'sand her last top 100 charting pop hit was "Now and Forever (You and Me)" which was released in 1986. Till this date she is a top concert draw, and performs quiet often in the US, Canada, and occasionally in Australia. Her albums have sold more than 50 million copies worldwide.
