It's time to get your tickets to see the original King of the Blues perform live, complete with his signature sidekick Lucille - it's time to see the legend B. B. King live in concert. B. B. King has had an immense influence on the music industry and has been cited as a major musical influence by modern hip hop artists and modern rock and alternative artists. His contribution to the blues and music in general is immeasurable and along with legends like Ray Charles and Miles Davis, B. B. King has a very important place in the evolution of music, particularly the blues.

B. B. King has been rightly named one of the best guitarists in the known world. His early years were tough as he grew up making his money as a sharecropper. However it was also at this early age that he became enamored with music, particularly jazz and the blues. In 1943 he moved to Memphis where he perfected his guitar technique with the help of his cousin Bukka White. The B.B. in his name stands for Blues Boy.

By the 1950s B. B. King was the definitive name on the R&B scene. From 1951 to 1985 B. B. King appeared on Billboard's R&B chart a whopping 74 times. It was during this period that he recorded some of his most famous numbers, like 'The Thrill is Gone', ' When My Heart Beats like a Hammer', ' Every Day I Have the Blues' and ' Sneakin' Around'.

After the eighties, B. B. King hit the studios less but was making his presence felt on the big screen and in collaborative efforts. He has combined with bands like U2 and Phish as well as respected musicians like Eric Clapton. He was awarded an honorary PhD in 2004 from the University of Mississippi and the Polar Music Prize by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He was also voted the third greatest guitarist of all time after Jimi Hendrix and Duane Allman by Rolling Stone magazine.

B. B. King has had a tremendous influence on popular music and his concerts are exceptional and rare glimpses into the art of one of our century's most influential and prolific artists.
