Beck is one of the most innovative and comprehensive stars of the alternative revolution. His music combines the elements of various genres - pop, folk, psychedelia, hip-hop, country, blues, R&B, funk, indie rock, noise rock, experimental rock, jazz, lounge and Brazilian music. His body of work is as unique and unpredictable as he is.
He was born Beck David Campbell on July 8, 1970 in Los Angeles, California. He father David Campbell was a respected conductor and string arranger. Beck grew up in Los Angeles and spent time with both sets of grandparents. He dropped out from school in the tenth grade and began playing folk music. By 1988, he produced his own compilation of songs, the home recorded collection was called The Banjo Story. He moved to New York in a effort to break into the "anti-folk" scene but with little success and leads, he returned to LA.

While playing at one of the local clubs, he was discovered simultaneously by Tom Rothrock and Rob Schnapf of the Bong Load label. Beck agreed to record some folk songs with some hip-hop beats. The recording was named "Loser." Beck then traveled to Olympia, WA for a recording session with the K label owned by Calvin Johnson. He also signed a deal with BMG. Beck finally released his first official releases titled, "Golden Feelings." The Bong Load label finally released "Loser" and it became an instant rage in the LA area. It also received airplay from most of LA's independent radio stations. The record was such a success that the label didn't have enough copies to meet the demand.

Beck signed another deal with Geffen, this partnership allowed him the liberty to release non commercial material on small independent labels. Finally Beck released his big label debut, "Mellow Gold" in March, 1994. Geffen also reissued "Loser" again on a national level. The album caught on and scorched to number one on the Billboard's modern rock album.

Beck embarked on his first major tour in 1995. He also released his second major label album, "Odelay." The album was produced by the Dust brothers who were also behind the fantastic album, Paul's Boutique" by the Beastie Boys. Odelay was finally released in June 1996. It was a critical and commercial success. The reached the Top 20 and sold 2 million copies.

The official follow-up to Odelay took 14 months to records and was released in November, 1999. The album was titled, "Midnite Vultures." The album was well received and won Beck his second Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance in early 2000. He followed this released with a promotional tour. He released, "Sea Change" in September 2002. Catch this amazing artists live, contact your on-line ticket vendor and get the tickets now!!
