Big Punisher was a Latin Rap Artist and the the first to go platinum. But sadly, he became another victim of an early death. This time however, the reasons were more health related than violence. He died because of his obesity. He was born as Christopher Rios on 10th November, 1971. He grew up in New York City among the Puerto Rican Community.

He formed his first band under the name of Big Moon Dog, in 1989. He and several of his friends called the band, "Full a Clips Crew." Inspired by the name of a Marvel Comics Super Hero he renamed himself as the "Big Punisher." He caught the eye to prominent rapper Fat Joe in 1995. He started out by appearing on a couple of numbers by Fat Joe. Some of his notable guest appearances are, "Fire Water," "Watch Out." He was also part of Funk master Flex's The Mix Tape, Vol. 1. This established him in the underground scene.

Big Punisher had his own underground hit, "I'm Not a Player" in 1997. With the help of his mentor, Fat Joe he managed to signed a deal with the Loud Records label. His solo album was titled, "Capital Punishment" and was released in 1998. The album made its debut on the charts at number five. The single "Still Not a Player" proved to be a huge hit. The album went on to sell two million records. His next album was a self titled effort that was issued the following year. It featured his mentor, Fat Joe and the Terror Squad.

Big Punisher passed away on February 7, 2000. This promising artist was taken very young, he was just 28 years old. He left behind his wife and three children. After his death, his second album, "Yeeeah Baby," was released. The album was critically acclaimed and got positive reviews.
