Black Label Society is one of many Rock bands in the music circuit. But it has made a name for itself because of its sheer dint of merit, hard work and fan following. It is a heavy metal band. Black Label Society is the brainchild of guitarist Zakk Wylde. It has Zakk Wylde (lead vocals, piano, keyboard, and lead guitar), John DeServio (bass guitar), Nick Catanese (rhythm guitar) and Craig Nunenmacher (drums). Zakk began his career with being patronized by mentor Ozzy Osbourne. However he fell out with Ozzy and began his own solo band Pride & Glory, blending effective rock with heavy metal. Book of Shadows was his first album released in 1996, though it did not do that well, yet helped Zakk earn his name. Zakk, the six-stringer took a long break before reemerging on the mainstream in 1999 with the formation of Black Label Society with the help of drummer Phil Ondich.

Black Label Society has issued seven albums till 2006. Zakk Wylde along with drummer Craig Nunenmacher has finalized the recording of their transcribe of the 2005 hit "Mafia". This album will be released in autumn and named as" Shot To Hell". Zakk recently signed a record deal with Roadrunner Records.
