Harold Bice was born on November 1, 1975 in Huntsville, Alabama. Like many singing prodigies, this singer also has singing in his blood. His parents worshipped music and were accomplished singers and instrumentalists. His mother was a part of group called the Singing Jays, who had had a chance to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. His father was an expert mandolin, banjo, and guitar player. With genes like this, there was no chance of him looking at a career beyond music. When Bo was 9 his parents gifted him a guitar, which he used to good effect in a talent contest at the Atlanta Civic Center. Bo's rendition of God Bless the U.S.A was his first public performance and the singing prodigy climbed the first few step on the musical ladder.

Following the adrenalin rush that was American Idol, Bo Bice performed with his fellow contestant in the traditional pot-idol tour, the following summer. Songwriting pros Max Martin and John Shanks also collaborated with Bice to write some thought provoking lyrics. The album got positive reviews and went on to make some decent sales, finally heralding the arrival of Bo Bice on the mainstream commercial music scene.
