Born on 16th April 1935, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, USA, Bobby Vinton was one of the hearthtrobs , the boy next door figure who was a rising star of th 60's. Stanley Robert Vinton or Bobby Vinton started his career as a trumpeter, before he was asked to join his High School Band as a frontman and the featured vocalist. After listening to one of his tape, Epic Records signed Bobby Vinton in 1960. "Roses Are Red"( My Love), the song which was composed b y Paul Evans and Al Bryon was Vinton's first national hit.
The song gained widespread popularity across the country, but later on the it was taken over by Ronnie Carroll's Top 10 cover version in Britain. His much publicized teen-exploitation movie "Just For Fun" , a second US number , "Blue Velvet" was not accepted completely in the UK. Infact another US hit "There! I've Said It Again" by Vaughn Monroe made 34 in 1963.until 1968, Bobby Vinton continued to play in the supper clubs, before a series of hit singles like Jimmy Crawford's "I Love How You Love Me", Bobby Vee's "Take Good Care Of My Baby and the Teady Bears" which was retitled as "To Know Her Is To Love Her" ranked in the Top 100 music charts. This combination worked again in 1972 with Brian Hyland's "Sealed With A Kiss' followed by "My Melody Of Love" in 1974, which was co-written by Vinton. The song reached US chart-topper that further led his career to the stardom. He also hosted his own television series during the mid-70s.

Werewolf in London in 1981. But it was noticed that the "Blue Velvet" in both the 1989 movie of the same name and a television commercial that brought about a huge 1991 windfall in Britain.During 21st century, the artist was a popular figure on the Cabaret circuit. Despite of the unsuccessful rating of "Roses Are Red" on the musical charts, Vinton appeared again in 2005 with a hit song "Lonely".
