Cam'ron began his career as a rapper in the early 1990s, alongside Big L, Ma$e and his cousin Bloodshed in a group called "Children Of The Corn". He was eventually introduced to the Notorious B.I.G who greatly impressed with his skills introduced him to his manager Lance "Un" River.. Cam'ron signed UN's Untertainment label which released his first solo album, "Confessions of Fire", in April 1998 distributed by Epic Records.Cam'ron gained popularity with "Pull It," which earned airplay in May 1998. His first R&B chart entry "3-5-7" was featured in the movie Woo in June. Cam'ron's debut album, "Confessions of Fire", went gold and made to the Top Ten of both the pop and R&B charts. Cam'ron signed Sony Records in the year 1999 when Untertainment wrapped up.
Camron developed an intense competitive spirit on some of the cities toughest basketball courts but envisioned himself turning pro, a leg injury in college regulated him to the sidelines. Leaving school Cam possessed two different visions of success floating through his veins. He had always rapped, but just a hobby. He had gone to high school with Ma$e where he was introduced to several people from the record industry. Since his leg never healed properly he decided to get into music instead of going back to school. Camron created the perfect street anthem for the millennium while combining a femme R&B vocal style to his tales of uptown wild style. Cam confesses that Oh Boy is a track which he was able to knock-out in like twenty minutes. All the ideas just poured out after having heard the beat.. Its a fun song.
Another R&B chart entry in December was "Feels Good" featuring Usher. "Let Me Know" made the pop and R&B charts in June 1999. The following year "What Means the World to You" heralded the release of Cam'ron's biographical sophomore album, S.D.E. in September 2000. In order to complete the album he worked with Ol' Dirty Bastard, Mobb Deep's Prodigy, and producer Digga. His single "Oh Boy" under Jay-Z's Roc-a-Fella label became a big hits on urban radio in 2002 and his album "Come Home with Me" too performed well. The following consecutive years saw his protégés the Diplomats debut with two-disc set Diplomatic Immunity. Purple Haze, Camron's own follow-up appeared in late 2004.
On October 23, 2005, Cam'ron was in news due to his escape in an attempted carjacking in Washington, DC with only a bullet wound on his arm. The following year his directorial straight to DVD film Killa Season and an album bearing the same name released.Often being caught in the professional turmoil that defines the industry, Camron has recently signed with the label that slays, Roc-A-Fella Records. He acclaims it to be the best place to promote rap music. He confesses to always be a little ahead of time. His goal is to be twenty blocks ahead of everybody else. Camron achieves accomplishments due to his obsession into aural pleasures. He confidently displays his honesty with his audience as well as with himself.
