Background:

Carlos Mencia was born in Honduras and brought up in East Los Angeles. Presently he spends his free time with his family and friends. He has a goal to be a role model to the youth. He believes that laughter is a bonding force and can make people come close to each other.
Carlos Mencia's has the talent to directly reach out to his diverse audience by pointing out society's hypocrisies. He has been gifted with a unique quality of insightful perception and precise delivery which has made him one of the most popular touring comedians of the nation.

He has also done movies and has starred in his first feature film titled Outta Time which was produced, in association with Artisan Home Entertainment/ Pathfinder Pictures and Filmstar Productions. He has played the role of a Mario's best friend and has a comic role. His character is called "Juancho". the best friend of Mario Lopez, in this action thriller set on the Mexican/ American border which had a limited theatrical release. Presently he is giving guest appearances in a recurring role opposite Tommy Davidson, as "Felix Boulevard" in Hyperion Pictures' cartoon show titled The Proud Family on the Disney Channel. He has also starred in roles on The Shield for the FX Channel. In 2004 his half-hour Comedy Central Presents premiered and was very well appreciated by the people.
Warner Bros. released in 2000 Carlos' critically lauded debut album, which was titled Take A Joke America. Carlos latest CD, America Rules, is a live recording and features an hour of brand new material that deals with the events of Sept. 11th.
Carlos Mencia performed at Wild 94.9 Comedy Jam on the 24 September 2005 at the famous Shoreline Amphitheatre in California.
