Casting Crowns is a pop band based in Daytona Beach, FL., in the year 1999. The group started their career as a student worship band led by singer, songwriter, and youth pastor Mark Hall. In the beginning the band also included Juan DeVevo and Hector Cervantes as guitarists, and the violinist Melodee De Vevo. But, in the year 2001, the band shifted to McDonough, GA, with some of the new members such as bassist Chris Huffman, Megan Garrett on keyboards and accordian, and drummer Andy Williams.

Later on, the Casting Crowns came up with two independent CD albums, which were much heard across the Atlanta, making them popular amongst the crowd. The band was made to sign their first record deal with Beach Street Records, when Mark Miller, lead singer for the country group Sawyer Brown heard the hard hitting songs of the CD.

This was the time which kick started their career as a professional band. The Beach Street Records was
a branch of Reunion Records under the Provident Label Group. The group did couple of recordings in this studio with one of the famous co-producer Steven Curtis Chapman, who himself was considered as one of the renowned artist on the CCM musical scene. The band's album "Casting Crowns" under the label of Beach Records was released in the year of 2003. The album was much appreciated worldwide, increasing their fan list.

With the success rolling in, Casting Crowns came up with yet another album in the year 2004, that consisted of a sampler with five sons, live from Atlanta. This was released under the banner Reunion Records and was put on sales with a set of DVD's containing band interviews and a music video.

Casting Crowns travels different places all over the world to showcasing their skills. They have made several tours internationally. In the year 2006, the band also won themselves a Grammy Award.Those of you interested in the live show of this great band should not waste time to buy tickets for their show.
