The legendary Connie Francis was born as Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero in the city of Newark, New Jersey. Her father who was very controlling in nature pushed his daughter to start making her living by playing and giving instructions on the accordion. However she won a competition at the early age of 9 on the famous Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts. This changed her focus in a different direction. Incidentally it was Godfrey himself who actually suggested that she change her name to her current name of Connie Francis. Connie's mesmerizing voice was strikingly beautiful even when she was quite young. She went on to record her very first single at the age of 16. However she received major star status after the 1958 recording of the remarkable "Who's Sorry Now?" This went on to rocket her to musical stardom. "Who's Sorry Now" went on to reach No. 1 on the list of UK Singles Chart and in the year 2000, the song was named as one of the defining Songs of the Century. After this number, several more major hit records followed. This included the breath taking "Don't Break the Heart ..." the mesmerizing "Everybody's Somebody's Fool" and the catchy "Stupid Cupid".

During this period she showed her tremendous versatility by recording in multiple languages including the likes of Italian, Hebrew, Spanish, French and even Japanese. This instantly catapulted her into an international star. In the year 1960 Francis apparently became the youngest headliner to ever sing in Las Vegas, where she happened to play 28 days in a year for more than nine years. In early 1961 she was quite successful in starring in a television special which was made on her on ABC television, in which she sang and acted along-side the great Tab Hunter, the remarkable Eddie Foy Jr. and even Art Carney.

Connie Francis happened to be diagnosed with serious bi-polar disorder but she was resuming her career in early 1989. After that she has successfully continued singing and recording. The evergreen Connie still holds a massive world-wide appeal that is displayed through continued growth in music sales and total sold-out appearances. Her live concerts are even today eagerly awaited. Her mesmerizing performances continue to delight legions of adoring fans. So get tickets your loved ones and yourself and dwell into her eclectic music.
