Relive some of the funniest moments on television with tickets to see the Curb Your Enthusiasm Comics live on stage. Arguably one of the best comedy shows that ever hit a television screen, the unique brand of Curb Your Enthusiasm now comes to you live on stage with some of their best comics and jokes, all ready to get you laughing live.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is the brainchild of Larry David, part of the creative team that put together the incredibly popular comedy series Seinfeld. The show is taken in a quasi-documentary fashion with a very natural atmosphere. The show and the characters are somewhere between fiction and reality, the line being decidedly blurred since the show is loosely based on the life of David himself. However, though in real life David is rather sensitive to the plight of others, the David in the show has a kind of self-destructive behavior, which, in all fairness comes to the fore through little fault of his own.
The premise is rather simple- David is now a millionaire, not-quite-retired living off the wealth of what he made with the success of Seinfeld. The perfect life? One would think so but David is not your average person. Quirky and eccentric, David falls prey to the most impossible circumstances, getting hopelessly entangled in a fray of social upsets, personal quirks and his innate ability to always say the wrong thing at the wrong time. Despite being a success in other fields, when it comes to social set ups David is all thumbs.
While Seinfeld built on the premise of being a show about nothing, each show of Curb Your Enthusiasm finds David in a number of situations that always manage to bring out the worst in him. Though the show does indeed focus on the banal and the ordinary, the ordinary always turn out to be extraordinarily bad for David. He does his best not to offend people and ends up doing exactly that, especially with characters like waiters, the handicapped and secretaries, A hapless victim of circumstance, David is accompanied on his trials and tribulations by his ever patient wife and his loyal agent.
Curb Your Enthusiasm does not follow the traditional forms of script and dialogue, opting instead to have the actors improvise much of what they say. The show has been home to a number of big-name guest stars including Ted Danson, Richard Lewis, Hugh Hefner, Alanis Morissette, Wanda Sykes, Martin Scorsese, Ben Stiller, David Schwimmer, Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Dustin Hoffman and Mel Brooks.
