Dale Watson was a musical hero who was only interested in recording authentic country music.His music was appreciated by numerous critics and alternative country fans. Dale was born in Alabama in 1962 but he spent his early years near Houston. Dale took Texas as his true home state. His brother and father both sustained an inclination towards music. Dale Watson started writing his own songs at the age of 12 and his first recording came out two years later. He spent seven years playing local clubs and honky tonks after graduating from high school. In 1988 he went to Los Angeles and joined the house band at North Hollywood's now-legendary alt-country venue the Palomino Club.
Dale's two singles "One Tear at a Time" and "You Pour It On," got recorded in the year 1990 and later on in the year 1992 he came out with the third volume of the compilation series A Town South of Bakersfield. Later on he moved to Nashville and started writing songs for the Gary Morris publishing company. watson Austin, TX, where he formed a backing band called the Lonestars. In the midst of divorce from his fist wife, Watson met the new love Terri Lynn Herbert. They fell in love and planned to marry, but tragedy struck when Terri was killed in a car accident. Dale was unable to deal with the loss, checked himself into a hotel room along with alcohol and pills and attempted suicide. Fortunately, his life was saved and that harrowing period has been turned into easily the finest album of his career, an album inspired by love for Terry Lynn Herbert.
