One of the most selective and famous producers of his time, Daniel Lanois is also a talented composer and solo artist. He not only performs on his own material but also for other famous bands likes: U2, Bob Dylan and Peter Gabriel. He has always preferred emotional honesty over technical perfection.

He has always relied on vintage musical equipment and contemporary studio methods to develop a signature sound both viscerally powerful and intricately melodious.

He was born on September 19, 1951 in Hull, Quebec. He had a very musical family back ground, with his mother being a singer and both his father and grandfather known famously for their prowess on the violin. In 1963 he migrated to the English-speaking suburbs of
Hamilton, Ontario. Here he got the opportunity to take guitar lessons and his brother recorded it on cassettes. The brothers in 1970 brought a four-track machine and set up a recording studio in the laundry room of their home. This recording company worked for the local bands for a very low fee of 60$ only.

Quiet often they used to help their clients in writing the songs apart from being the producers of their albums. They slowly became very famous in the entire region. They added more equipment to their studio and named it as the Grant Avenue Studios.

Daniel first worked with Brian Eno, they spent many weeks working on instrumental ambient material, hugely experimenting with sonic manipulation techniques.
He has since then worked with many other famous performers from all over the world. His shows are well attended and generally are total sold outs. The tickets to these special shows can be brought online.
