An American country music artist was born on October 31, 1964. Music, in a way met him later in life when he had flirted with his other abilities. He played basketball, did comercial fishing, working in a paper mill and as a teacher among others. He left behind a degree in organic chemistry and a career in business to take up music, at long last.

He signed a publishing deal with Fame in Muscle Shoals and broke his engagement to play bars every night. In 1999, he signs up with Dreamworks Nashville who released his debut album ''When You Need Love''.

His version of the country music had arrived. In 2000, he released ''Hard Rain Dont Last'' which rallied to the doors of Top Ten without making it inside.

No one had to wait for too long. He busted the charts with his No.1 '' I Miss My Friend'' in 2002 in its very first week. By the end of the year he was in Afganistan getting a first hand feel of all that an American soldier has to go through. That brought him to release ''Have you Forgotten'' which pulled at the strings of the Ameriacn heart and catapulted him to No.1 again. His self-titled album was released in 2004.

How can one not mention his ''I found Love At A K-Mart Store'' which painfully plays on and on at all the outlets of the store and would have bored you too. Among other things he also holds the yearly charity event ''Tennesse River Run'' proceed from which go to the Darryl Worley Foundation.
