One of the most contemporary country music champs, Dixie Chicks emerged in the year of 1998. However, their existence dates back to 1989 when Martie Seidel along with her banjo-player sister Emily Erwin formed the group in Dallas in association with other members like bassist Laura Lynch and guitarist Robin Lynn Macy.
Initially they began their career on local street corners, and finally moved to clubs where they received tremendous popularity as well as admiration. During this time Seidel attained third position at the National Fiddle Championships. Their cowgirl image made them one of the country, folk, and bluegrass artists across the country. Dixie Chicks released their debut "Thank Heavens" for Dale Evans
in 1990.
Macy departed from the group after their 1992 release "Little Ol' Cowgirl," and the band shifted to a more contemporary sound of music. Other follow-ups include "Shouldn't a Told You That" which appeared in 1993, followed by a contract with Sony Music in the year of 1995. Soon after Lynch left the band as well, and Dixie Chicks came down in terms of their popularity.
But, the band was back into form when Lynch was replaced with vocalist Natalie Maines, who was the daughter of steel guitarist Lloyd Maines. This legendary country band continues to give their performances onstage, so buy their concert tickets from the ticket vendor.
