Evanescence is one of the most influential rock bands of its times who gained widespread popularity among the audience across the world. The band made it big with the release of their debut album "Fallen" in the early days of the year 2003. The band comprise some of the prestigious members like Amy Lee and guitarist/songwriter Ben Moody who met each other at a "youth camp" at the time they were just in their teens.

With just two members in the group, Evanescence never performed live, but released their full-length album "Origin" and several other EP's. Further more, the band found yet another member Lee who was discovered by the producer Pete Matthews. It was told by Lee that Evanescence is mastering demos in Memphis, TN. Soon, Evanescence signed a contract for Wind-Up Entertainment, the home of creed and released several albums under this banner.

The Ben Affleck action movie "Daredevin" which consisted of Evanescence soundtrack in 2003, made the band one of the most popular bands in the rock music industry. The soundtrack increased their popularity tremendously. Other hit vouchers done by Evanescence include "Bring Me to Life," which was accompanied by the ballad "My Immortal" became super-duper hit numbers, increasing the band's fan base worldwide. The band's success is majorly due to hit single by Paul McCoy, a labelmates 12 stones product who rapped on "Bring Me To Life." This was their major hit for the album "Fallen" which was produced by by Dave Fortman and cleared their way towards the stardom.

Evanescence in the course of their musical career went through many controversial phases including the much talked about controversy of their first album "Fallen." It is said that the album was initially released in the Christian and secular markets, but their label pulled the album from the market after the group's interview with the Rolling Stones. However, the album went platinum acquiring Top Five musical charts in Canada and number one position in the United Kingdom. Guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray were filled later on to complete the band's line-up.
