50 Cents is one of the hardcore rapper originated from the East Coast, and who was one of the most discussed personalities in the beginning of 2003 in terms of his rap music. Initially, he came up with several flops in the late 90's. However, he was signed by yet another greatest rappers of the music industry Eminem to a seven-figure deal in the year of 2002 which paved his way to a rising success in 2003.
50 Cents was born as Curtis Jackson and was brought up in the Southside Jamaica, Queens. After the death of her mother, Curtis followed the tradition of her mother and started hustling. But, his singing career came into being during around mid-90's when his rapping talent flourished in a proper manner. In 1996, he met Run-D.M.C's Jam Master Jay who asked him to give a short demonstration of his rapping talent.
The trick worked for him and 50 Cents signed a contract with the JMJ Records. With not much stuff coming from the banner, he got associated with the Trackmasters, a New York based production pair which included Poke and Tone who are well known for their work with artists such as Nas and Jay-Z.
The Trackmasters signed 50 Cents for their sublabel and started working on the project for their debut album "Power of the Dollar." The album included hit singles like "Your Life's on the Line," "Thug Love," and "How to Rob."
Moreover, the G-Unit debut "Beg for Mercy" came up in the late 2003 making it's way to reach top musical charts. The album went platinum, selling innumerable copies in the market. He also made several tours nationally as well as internationally. Under the label of G-Unit Radio, the series comprised of some brand new tracks by the crew which also had works from Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. Both of them released their albums with 50 Cents as their executive producer.
