G. Love & Special Sauce are a trio which was formed in Philadelphia, PA. With some of the sloppy blues rhythms, the trio showcased the sound/production of classic R&B and some of the recent rap artists like the Beastie Boys, in specific. The group members include -- G. Love or Garrett Dutton on guitar/vocals/harmonica, Jeff Clemens on drums, and bassist Jim Prescott. The year 1994, was an imporatant one as the group first self-titled debut album was released on Okeh/Epic.

The band's album got positive reviews and almost went gold on the MTV-spun video for "Cold Beverage." They have done several shows all over the world, but were a subsequent spot on the H.O.R.D.E tour that could not prove fruitful for them because of the highly receptive young audience.
Yet another success "Coast to Coast Motel" that was released in 1995 made them popular.

However, the album could not sell a considerable number of copies as its debut, it was still a success.
While on tour, the trio almost broke up because of heavy finances.

After their break up from each other, G.Love worked with various bands such as All Fellas Band, Philly Cartel, and King's Court. But, the group again reunited in 2001, and went for the world tour. It was an extensive touring that made them popular through out the world. Special Sauce also did a several shows in '04 with Johnson and fellow Brushfire artist Donovon Frankenreiter, which eventually made the trio found time to issue a brief live EP.So, if you want to catch them performing live buy their concert tickets from online ticket vendor.
