Gaelic Storm really stormed Titanic. Now they are here to do the same thing. Get your tickets and be be ready for the storm.

The Gaelic Storm was formed in the year 1996. Steve Twigger used to perform at O'Brien's Irish Pub and Restaurant in Santa Monica, California and where Murphy was the manager. Later Patrick Murphy and Steve Wehmeyer joined him and it led to a series of pub performances in the following year. Their first performance was such a hit that the crowd refused to let them off the stage for the next act.

In 1997, Gaelic was catapulted out of their pub haunts by an appearance in the blockbuster film Titanic.
California-based Celtic group Gaelic Storm -- vocalist/accordionist Patrick Murphy, bodhran player Steve Wehmeyer, guitarist/mandolinist Steve Twigger, fiddler Samantha Hunt and djembe player Shep Lonsdale -- left an impression on audiences worldwide through their appearance as the "steerage band" entertaining immigrant third-class passengers in James Cameron's blockbuster film. After the film's release, the band was met by a huge crowds when they went for tour.

After the success of the movie, the Higher Octave label issued the group's self titled LP, in 1998, Herding Cats in the following year and Tree in 2001. They released their fourth album, Special Reserve, in 2003 and quickly reached #2 on the Billboard World Music Charts, continuing their un-broken streak of chart-topping success that started with their first release in 1998. Since their self-titled first album (#5 on Billboard's World Music Chart) and their appearance in the film Titanic, Gaelic Storm continues to thunder onto stages around the world.

Currently Gaelic Storm also includes Ryan Lacey on drums and world percussion who graduated twice from the Los Angeles Music Academy, Ellery Klein on fiddle who holds a MA degree in Traditional Irish Music from the University of Limerick and Pete Purvis of Merrickville, Ontario on uillean pipes, tin whistle, daeger pipes and highland pipes a Grade 1 piper who toured with award winning pipe bands including the Braemar Pipe Band and played at 2000 Sydney Olympics.

The Gaelic Storm has been showcasing their unique high energy Celtic music over the years of its inception.. They routinely breaks attendance and merchandise sales records, pushing their popularity beyond the World Music genre and into the mainstream music consciousness. They have also collaborated with other rock bands such as Cowboy Mouth, Tonic, Sister Hazel and Gavin Degraw, in The Rock Boat (2004). It was instantaneous hit and was invited again in the year 2005. They have also made headlines when they broke the record of Alan Jackson at the Albuquerque, NM Bio-Park. They are also the hot favorite of the largest Celtic and Folk festivals in the world including Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany, the Pittsburgh Irish Festival, Dublin Irish Festival and Celtic Fest Chicago.

Gaelic Storm has been featured on ESPN's Cold Pizza. In addition to this, a mini-documentary is regularly aired on Cinemax about Gaelic Storm and they have also appeared a number of times on national and international TV.
