It is hosted at the Universal Orlando Resort with sometimes Universal Studios Hollywood being the venue for Halloween Horror Nights. The Nights are known for the style and the way Halloween is celebrated. It will definitely make your Halloween the mot memorable for your lifetime.

1991 was the year for the beginning of Halloween Horror Nights at the Universal Orlando. In 1991 the event was celebrated as Fright Titles. In the next year Fright Titles was changed to Halloween Horror Nights. It was earlier a three day long celebration. Gradually became a nineteen day event. Halloween Horror Nights is celebrated from late September to the Halloween day on 31st October. Sometimes it got extended to 1st and 2nd November. From 1991 to 2001 Halloween Horror Nights was celebrated at Universal Studios Florida. In 2002 Islands of Adventure of Universal was the venue.

Halloween Horror Nights in 1991 then known as Fright Titles was a very successful and great event. The event featured many shows like The Human Pincushion, The Human Impaler, Chainsaw Massacre, Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Gravediggers, Universal Science Band, Beetlejuice Graveyard Tours, Dragon Breath, Monster Mardi Gras Costume Contest, Prince Dragon, Cobra Woman, Iron Belly,Dr. Death, among others. But Fright Titles had just one haunted house named Dungeon of Terror.
Since the first Night was still in its infancy. In the later years the number of haunted houses were increased from one to seven including new shows and ideas.

The 1992 Halloween Horror Nights was celebrated with more excitement. This year two regular shows were added which were Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure and Robosaurus with three more shows The Pendragons, Carnival of Horror and Thunderdome. There were two haunted houses now The People Under the Stairs and Dungeon of Terror.

In the 1993 Halloween Horror Nights saw the addition of one more haunted house taking the tally to three like
The People Under the Stairs, The Slaughterhouse and The Psycho Path Maze. While the terrific shows were
Robosaurus, Human Blockhead, Burn and Bury, Hex-Maniacs, Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure II.

In 1994 Halloween Horror Nights was special as for the first time scarezone was added. The scarezone was Horrorwood featuring The Lizzie Borden Band , Chainsaw Drill Team, and Axe Corps among others. The haunted houses were Dungeon of Terror, Hell's Kitchen, The Psycho Path Maze, and The Bone Yard. The four shows in 1994 were The Price is Fright, Bill and Ted Meet Timecop, Robosaurus and The Devil and His Showgirls.

Universal Studios Hollywood was the venue for the Halloween Horror Nights in 2006. It was being held at the Studios after gap of six years. The event started on 13th October and was held on particular days till the Halloween day. The 2006 event was full of various attractions with number of haunted houses, scarezones and shows. The shows were like Carnival of Carnage, SlaughterWorld , Chucky's Insult Emporium, The Mutaytor.
Among the haunted houses were Universal's House of Horrors, The Asylum and Terror Tram: The Director's Cut.
And the scarezones were Old London, Deadwood , Black Death, Dawn of the Dead and Studio Center.
