"Iron Maiden" are known for some powerful hits as "The Trooper" and "Two Minutes to Midnight." They are also acclaimed as the most influential bands in the world of heavy metal. The band was formed by bassist Steve Harris in 1976; he teamed up with rhythm guitarist Tony Parsons, vocalist Paul Di'Anno and drummer Doug Sampson.

Before getting a big deal, the band played in local club scenes. They continued to play in local areas and also received a fair amount of London airplay throughout the '70s. Soon, Parsons replaced Dennis Stratton, and band issued their self-titled debut album in 1980. This release was acclaimed as a hit in the U.K. because of the hit single "Running Free." In 1981, the band issued their 2nd album "Killers," which displayed a harder approach of the band. With this release Stratton was replaced with Adrian Smith. Because of alcohol addiction, Di'Anno was replaced with vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

With this new line up the band issued their next album in 1982 which had a groundbreaking number of the Beast. This release had some smash hit tracks like "Hallowed Be Thy Name." which became one of the greatest and hugely famous rock recordings of all time. In their next album "Piece of Mind," the band opted for somewhat soft approach. Before releasing their next album, the band undertook two exhaustive tours and then went on to issue "Powerslave," which became another cult hit.

Since the release of their next hugely anticipated album "Live After Death," the band had already established themselves as a unique metal band. After this album followed a spurt of releases like "Somewhere in Time," in 1986, and "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" next year. After this the band embarked on another exhaustive tour. After some hassles, Smith was replaced by guitarist Janick Gers. In 1990, the band issued "No Prayer for Dying" which became a major hit. This was followed by other successful albums like: "No More Lies" in 2004 and "Death on the Road in 2005. Catch them performing live, just grab your tickets from an on-line ticket vendor and be there.
