Jaheim's full name is Jaheim Hoagland was born in New Jersey on 26th May, 1978. Jaheim just at the age of two lost his father. But he overcame all the difficulties in his life to establish a successful singing career. Jaheim belonged to a musical family. Grandfather of Jaheim, Victor Hoagland was also a singer and worked with many groups with The Drifters being one of them. Even in the family reunions there was lot of song singing. Jaheim used to sing in these reunions and also took part in many local talent shows. He also appeared in a very difficult talent show at the Apollo Theater. At 15 he had already been three times winner of the contest. He had often been compared to Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass.

Still young Jaheim was struck by more tragedy. After father he soon lost his mother Julie. However all the difficulties could not deter the faith of Jaheim. He kept participating in the talent shows and soon became extremely famous at the talent shows in New Jersey. He soon created a tape. It culminated into deal with a division of Warner Brothers, Divine Mill after four years. His two songs were great hits and appeared on the Billboard chart at top positions. These songs were Just In Case and Could It Be.

The first album of Jaheim Hoagland released in 2001 titled 'Ghetto Love' with as many as twenty one songs. Among the songs on the album were Looking for Love, Happiness, Du & Jah, For Moms, Remarkable, Anything, Finders Keepers, Love Is Still Here, Just in Case along with more tracks. The album proved to be his first tryst with fame as 'Gheto Love' went on to become a platinum album with sales over one million records.

In 2003 came 'Still Ghetto' another smash hit album. There were many hit singles in the album. Some of the tracks on the album were Fabulous , Beauty and Thug, Every Which Way, Backtightm, Everywhere I Am, Still Ghetto, Special Day, Let's Talk About It . This album was too achieved platinum status and in United States Of America came at 8th position on the album charts.
After three years Jaheim Hoagland returned to the music scene with a bang with his third album 'Ghetto Classics'. The album was released on Warner Bros. Records. On the Billboard 200 it started with number one position. Album was released in February and in its first week 153,000 copies were sold. On the R&B chart also it was at #1. 'Ghetto Classics' became a gold album. The songs which gave the album gold status are Masterpiece, Everytime I Think About Her, Conversation, Fiend, Come Over, Daddy Thing, I Ain't Never, Forgetful, The Chosen One, 125th and Like A DJ.
