"Live" peaked at many music charts on the strength of their anthemic music and soothing, idealistic, and overtly spiritual songwriting. Because of these qualities they are often compared with U2. Earlier the band was formed in early '80s in York, Pennsylvania. It's all started when Chad Taylor (guitar), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums) started playing together under the first name "First Aid." The band was formed while they were attending middle school. Soon they added singer Ed Kowalczyk and started playing gigs around local area.
Soon the band earned a cult following. In 1989, they issued a cassette "The Death of a Dictionary," on their very own Action Front Label. After completing their graduation, the band hit the local clubs of New York. Soon they grabbed a demo deal with Giant Records. In 1991, Jerry Harrison produced their debut album, "Mental Jewelry." All the tracks from the album were base on the spiritual writings of famous Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti.
After three years, they issue their next album "Throwing Copper" which couldn't release for a few months because of some management problems. The band hit the music charts with some sizzling singles like "I Alone," "Selling the Drama," and "Lightning Crashes." In 1997, the band issued "Secret Samadhi" which became a huge hit. In 2003, the band resurfaced and issued their next release "Birds Of Pray," which became a huge hit and cracked the Billboard Top 30. If you love soulful spiritual music, then catch them performing live, collect your tickets from an on-line ticket vendor and be there.
