The identical twin sisters, Natalie and Nicole Albino comprises the group. They grew up in the Queens and Roosevelt Islands of New York. Their parents emigrated from Puerto Rico and were separated by divorce. The twins' mother remarried to a DJ. Their stepfather encouraged the duo to aspire to become singers. The twins were influenced by different types of music. The twins' parents were very supportive of their daughters' ambitions. Their stepfather even taught them guitar and drum lessons. The sisters were taken to auditions and, on occasions, they were aked to perform on some showcases.Singing was always vital to the girls. They wrote their first song, "Sisters", when they were just 7 years old. By the time they were 10, they knew their destination to become singers. Then they announced their desires to their parents for this profession. Their parents were very supportive. Their stepfather introduced the young girls to a variety of music. They were also taken to auditions and, sometimes, they even performed on some shows.
In the year 2000, they met the production team, the Jettsonz. The team got impressed with the girls' performance. In 2004, Jettsonz introduced the girls to a hip-hop producer Cipha Sounds. Cipha Sounds was greatly impressed hearing the girls and suggested them to use the Coolie Dance Riddim. The twins then wrote "Move Ya Body", mixing riddim with Caribbean moves and made a demo. O'Loughlin, the president of Next Plateau Entertainment liked the demo and signed a contract with the girls. So the twins begin working on their debut album. When the work on "Move Ya Body" was complete, it was released on April 27, 2004. It soon reached number 17 in the hit charts. The top 40 urban music and rhythmic stations provided a place to this song in their play lists and send the song up the charts. By July 17, it had not only gone to the top 5 on both sides of the Atlantic but also reached the top 5 of a world combined r&b chart based on the US, UK, Germany, France and Australia. It was also on the top 50 of the Australian charts.
