Few well known partnerships in rock 'n' roll have been as sensational and productive as the breath taking collaboration between Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, and of course having amazing Brian Jones along did nothing special to hinder the huge Rolling Stones' popularity. From the get-go, the well known band played the gritty, raunchy, doppelganger to the great Beatles' dandified Mersey beat pop. Rolling Stones interestingly ventured a heavier, bluesier and stylish sound than their famous British Invasion counterparts and rivals, taking their known cues from Howlin's Wolf and Muddy Waters.
The band's remarkable strength, besides famous Charlie Watts, has always been their superb ability to add sensational stylistic touches very well drawn from their interests in Eastern music, country, and even well accepted disco to a blues rock chassis. It's really difficult to listen to the amazing trippy and their sizzling Satanic Majesties Request comprises the down-and-out honky-tonk of the famous "Exile On Main Street" and the supreme clean modernist surfaces of sadistic "Bridges To Babylon" and hardly believe that they were incredibly recorded by the same band. Anyway, they are better known for their musical diversity. Their supreme performances include Richard's sloppy and Jagger's famous slur with an exquisite combination of guitar elegance.
This tremendous powerhouse of music originally billed as the Rollin' Stones. Their first line-up was the immemorial unit of English 60s and the band members were Mick Jagger (vocals), Keith Richards ( guitar), Brian Hopkin-Jones (rhythm guitar), and Ian Stewart (Piano). Keith Richards and Mick Jagger were childhood school friends who ultimately resumed their camaraderie in their beautiful closing teenage years after amusingly finding that they had a special and mutual love for R&B and particularly the great music of Muddy Waters, Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley. In the beginning, they simply teamed with Dick Taylor (bass player) and after some time they included Stewart, Jones and occasional drummer Tony Chapman. Their patron and hugely patron at this point was popular musician Alexis Korner, who had already arranged their debut gig at the famous Marquee club at London on 21, July 1962. During the initial months the band met some reasonable opposition from blues and jazz aficionados for their so called alleged lack of musical "purity" and the superb line-up remained simply unsettled for several months. In late 1962, Bill Wyman (bass player) replaced Dick Taylor, while many drummers came and went including Mick Avory (who was initially billed as appearing at their sensational debut gig, but he did not play) and Carlo little from the famous Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages. At last, drummer Charlie Watts (the drummer), finally surrendered his day joy and fully committed himself to the band.
During the 70s, "The Rolling Stones," soporifically slide in the mainstream, when their so called jet-setting was really threatening to upstage their thorough musical endeavors. Then came another album "Goat's Head Soup," and was acclaimed a US number one with amazing tracks like "Angie." In 1974, the band released another hugely anticipated album "It's Only Rock 'n' Roll" and proved as distinguish album. Followed by Tamla/Motown Records for the Temptations' "Ain't Too Proud To Bet." After this band went through another dramatic phase as it saw the departure of Mick Taylor. After some time band released their next album "Black And Blue," featuring former faces hugely famous guitarist Ron Wood and he was confirmed as Taylor's successor. This new release saw the introduction of white reggae. During the second half of the 70s Rolling Stones were regularly recording and their busy schedules were incredibly becoming wider.
Then followed many celebrated concerts including the hugely successful concert at Knebworth in 1976. By 1977, they were among favorites of British music press. This was followed by some of the sizzling hits of their career, "Shattered," and the other hits. Followed by other hits "When The Whip Comes Down" and "Beast of Burden. In 1986, the band released "Dirty Work" followed by "Primitive Cool" in 1987 and "Mixed Emotions" and "Rock & A Hard Place" that was a huge radio hit. For the next thirty years band was climbing the new heights of fame. This was followed by their tour of 1993 and hugely successful tour of 1995. This was the greatest phase of their career. In 2002, the band released their outstanding album compilation "40 licks." They are among the best bands now. They are performing live, so what more would you ask for be there to enjoy the ultimate treat of music with this tremendous band, but first of all grab your tickets from an on-line ticket vendor to avoid the unavailability of the tickets.
