Alongside Larry the Cable Guy, Bill Engville and Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White is also part of the critically acclaimed Blue Collar Comedy Tour which deals with the quirks and tickles of life as a red neck and a blue collar worker in America. Largely regarded as the four good ole boys, the tour was so popular that it was released on DVD and spawned a TV show called Blue Collar TV. White appeared twice on the show but refused to be a regular since he did not want to be typecast as a blue collar person.

White almost always appears dressed from head to foot in black, pulling on a cigar and chugging scotch, though some claim that it is just apple juice. He is best known for his material on his nickname, Tater Salad and has a number of stories that go with it. The most famous is the tale about how he was pulled over for drunk driving at the age of 17 and gave the name Tater Salad as an alias. 17 years later, he was pulled over again and the arresting officer asked if he was Ron Tater Salad White, to which White said 'You caught me!" He often extends this joke, referring to his son as Tater Tot and reflecting how his dog calls his Tater when he is drunk.

White was also recently in the news when a rumor spread on the internet that he was dead, a tale that was probably spawned from an act where he spoke of a car accident was in in Mexico. White has released three solo recordings, apart from his work with The Blue Collar Comedy Tour- Drunk in Public, They Call Me Tater Salad and You Can't Fix Stupid.
