Background:

The passion for music was always present in him. He spent his growing age amidst the forest in Northern Michigan. What stirred this artist was the movie "This is Spinal Tap" and this inspired him to become a comedic singer songwriter.

He moved to New York in 1996 to test his skills. With his distinct lyrics and sweet sound , he mesmerized the audience and in the process gained warm reception in the comedy clubs of the city and the alternative comedy venues. He started performing on radio shows like "Opie and Anthony". During the next couple of years , he toured the country's night clubs and the colleges. This surely helped him built a solid fan base.

He came out with "Comedy Central Presents". This was a special that was released in 2000. this resulted in being one of the most sought out specials. Towards the end of that year, he released "A Little Bit Special" (What Are Records). This was marked as "an instant comedy classic" by CD-Now.
In 2002, he released "Superhero" . This was the compilation of the live recordings of his shows from five different parts of New York. These two albums have together sold out 160,000 copies.

His first DVD "Live at The El Rey" (Razor & Tie) came out in 2004. This was recorded at The El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The DVD contains additional hours of performance. Til date the DVD had sold 35000 copies.

He has performed at 'Just For Laughs Comedy Festival'. He had also featured in "The World Comedy Tour" and "The World Stand's Up" taped in London. He has made four appearances in NBC's "Last Call with Carson Daly."

From September 2002 till February 2004, he had completed the 44 city theater tour. He will be on tour again on October 2005.

"A Little Bit Special" and "Superhero" remained the two most successful independent album iTunes History.

In October 2005, Stephen will release his 3rd album "The Craig Machine" (What Are Records). The CD was recorded live at Symphony Space, situated in the New York City.

In December, he will sat rt his preparations for his Broadway musical 'The Wedding Singer". It is scheduled to open in spring 2006. the musical is based on the Adam Sandler movie with the same title. Stephen will be playing the Sandler role of Robert Hart.

He is associated with a personality having the mystical comical side to it. He had shared gigs with Anthony Clark, Jeff Foxworthy, Bobcat Goldthwait
