Energetic, bubbling and effervescent are the best adjectives which describes Sum 41. This young outrageous Canadian band hails from Ajax; Ontario and is known to be the king in pop punk genre. This band was made by fluke and at that time they never thought they would become the world's most trendy and widely appreciated band. Sum 41's band members bumped into each other in one of the local school's rock band competition and in no time they became close associates. Soon they decided to form a band with a determination to make the world dance to their tunes. The band consists of Dave Baksh- guitar, Jason McCaslin- Cone with bass, Deryck Whibley- guitar, keyboard, piano and Steve Jocz- drums. Hailing from the same country and being of the same age they decided to give a new meaning to pop punk and they have succeeded to some extent. This can be judged by their popularity since the fans simply pour into their concerts from all parts of the globe, thus, their concerts have always been a complete sell out so far. That's why people tend to book their tickets well in advance.

After forming the band they decided to shoot a candid video for their demo album and recorded various incidents such as crazy Jackass-esque frolics including, robbing a pizza place with water guns, performing dance sequence on "Makes No Difference" and many more. After compiling this they finally started submitting the video and demo tapes to various record companies. But it was Island Records which signed Sum 41 in 2000. Hence, it was on 27th June 2000 when their first EP was released titled as "Half Hour of Power". Their EP was widely appreciated and its hit single "Makes No Difference" was featured in movies such as "Bring It On", "Van Wilder" and "Out Cold". The second song of their EP "What I Believe" was featured in the Hollywood flick "Dude, Where's my Car?". This success got them instant fame and they became idols of young teens. Their first full album was released on 8th May, 2001 and "Fat Lip" one of the numbers in the album, became the smash hit of that time.

Seeing their popularity they were invited to perform at "Warped Tour" which further enhanced their popularity so much that tickets to their concerts are hard to come by. Later they released two other hit singles "In Too Deep" and "Motivation" which rocked the nation. Noticing the success of their singles, both "Fat Lip" and "In Too Deep" were featured in the movie "American Pie 2". However, "In Too Deep" has also been featured in "Malcolm in the Middle". Breaking the monotonous music chain they introduced slightly heavy and smooth harmonies in their new album titled "Does This Look Infected?" released on 26th November, 2002. This album was a commercial success especially "Still Waiting" which stirred the audiences. Their success was continued with the release of another album "Chuck" on 12th October, 2004. One of the single's in the Album "We're All To Blame" was featured in the movie "Godzilla: Final Wars". This made them immensely popular among the teens and as is evident from their concerts. Now, they are gearing up for their new album which will be hitting stores soon. Hence, if you want to catch the glimpse of this revering band just book your tickets from the closest ticket vendor now.
