Toby Keith is one of those rare stars who made their own identity with unique style and sizzling music. His music consistently stormed the music charts during the '90s. His music made him a favorite household name like Alan Jackson and Garth Brooks. Life was going on quite smoothly for Toby until 2002, when he went on to record, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue," which was a beautiful number recorded as a patriotic September eleven attacks.

This track became one of the highly charged political statements in the whole country. This track garnered same sort of response like Merle Haggard's "Okie From Muskogee" did few years back. Toby Keith was born in Clinton, OK, in 1961. He grew up mostly on a farm in Moore. He took up the guitar at the young age of eight. Obviously his influences were popular country musicians. Soon he began playing at the supper club which was run by his grandmother. When, he heard Bob Wills, he just fell in love with his music.

During his high school, he worked as a rodeo. After his graduation, he began working in the oil fields. Besides this he also formed a band called, "Easy Money Band." Then, he began playing Alabama-style country rock. Then he chose another path as he went on to join the USFL football team. After completing two years as a football player, he determined to concentrate on music. Eventually, he cut a few records for small local indie labels.

One of his demo tapes got the ear of Alabama producer Harold Shedd. Harold helped Keith land a deal with Mercury. In 1993, Keith issued his self-titled debut album. With powerful single, "Should've been a Cowboy," Keith garnered huge success. This album went on to sell two million copies. In 1995, he issued his next album "Boomtown" which went gold. In 1996, he issued "Blue Moon." With his two super hit singles, "Does That Blue Moon Ever Shine on You and A Woman's Touch" garnered him number one hits. For his next album, "Dream Walk-in," he collaborated with well know producer James Stroud. This album issued in 1997.

In 1999, he appeared with his next album, "How Do You like Me Now?" which was issued under his own label. His super hit numbers "Country Comes to Town," and "YouShouldn't Kiss Me like this" went on to hit all the music charts. In 2001, he earned nomination in the Academy of Country Music. Late in 2001, he issued his next album and gave some memorable hits like, "I Wanna Talk about Me," "I'm just Takin' about Tonight," and "My List." His patriot track in 2001 made him a huge star. In 2002, he issued "Unleashed." This was followed up by "Whiskey Girl" in 2004 and "Chronicles" in 2005.
