The acclaimed director Franco Dragone's latest creation has arrived with a bang. Le Reve is French for "The Dream." The production costs of "Le Reve: A Small Collection of Imperfect Dreams" are unknown but quite obviously it looks like an expensive affair. The shows on the Las Vegas Strip generally average around $30 million to $40 million. Characteristic of Franco Dragone production, Le Reve is a visual stunner. The theater has the astounding capacity of 2087 and the experience is spectacular.

The show is a surrealistic journey deep into the subconscious world of sleep. A million-gallon tank of water serves as the stage. Inside the water are platforms which rise and fall as is needed for the various scenes. The story takes place in a dream and that gives Dragone the freedom to do all that he wants to do with his creativity.

Dragone said that his goal was to "transport everyone into a world where the theater, performance and audience become one and the same reality." He also says that ?What I am offering the audience is a journey through a field of dreams.? When asked about the strange theme of the show he explained, "The theme that crosses the show is really how men can be great and little, how men can do beautiful, great things like walk on the moon, and at the same time do bad, ugly things like war."

The story is about Morpheus, the Greek god of sleep and dreams, guiding a character through a melee of experiences we witness during sleep. What follows is a sequence of wonderfully crafted scenes -- thunderstorms, snowfall, high dives, a tree rising out of water with an old man seated on top and a female acrobat with bare breasts. There are also devilish creatures and comic angels and much more. There is a particularly stunning scene where characters bound in harnesses walk through thin air carrying umbrellas. In another nightmarish moment huge nets filled with bodies rise out of water.
