Get into the basketball season fever with a bang with tickets to see the Detroit Pistons shoot some stellar basketball live! This winning team has some unforgettable moments, some drama and some great basketball in its history and is all set to take the new season by storm.

The Pistons began as a small franchise out of Fort Wayne, part of the NBL. The owner was a manufacturer of car pistons, hence the name. The team enjoyed a large amount of local success but there was no way of making an impression on the world of basketball in such a small place. The team was moved to Detroit and things began to take shape for the Pistons in the professional league.

It was in the eighties that the Pistons began to make their mark with the acquisition of star players Isaiah Thomas, Bill Lambieer, Dennis Rodman and Joe Dumars. Despite having such a strong core set of players, the Pistons were dogged by string of bad luck, beginning with the collapse of the roof of their home arena. They would also go on to lose to the then underdog team of the New York Knicks but regain some spirit with a surprising set of wins against the Boston Celtics- it was here that the Pistons developed a physical and aggressive style known as the Bad Boy Style of playing.

After fine tuning their Bad Boy method of attack, the Pistons went on to rake in more spirited wins and a slot in the NBA finals. It was during the final match with the Lakers that the infamous 'phantom foul' was called on Lambieer. Subsequent games found the Pistons in fine form, raking up a win of 63 games in the '88-'89 season as well as a championship run in the nineties. Things came to a halt in '91 however when a number of the Pistons' best players were traded or retired.

It took the Pistons a while to find their groove among a new roster of players. This era was marked by a number of questionable decisions, including the trading of Rodman as well as a number of washed-out free agents and coaches. Even the team colors were changed to teal, thus giving the name of the Teal Era to this low phase. Things turned around when former player Dumars came back as president- he changed the team colors and made the controversial decision of trading star player Grant Hill. At the time, Hill was the only good thing that the Pistons had going but the decision proved to be a sound one, with the Pistons doing a bang-up job with new players and Hill himself out of play with an ankle injury.

The Pistons continue to do well, with more than 64 wins to their name this season. Don't miss your chance to see the Pistons put the pedal to the metal on center court- get in touch with your online ticket vendor and order your tickets to see the Detroit Pistons play!
