Get ready for some zooming NBA action with tickets to see the Houston Rockets take off on a basketball court near you. These former NBA champions are well known for their hard hitting basketball and have worked hard to earn the respect of a city that didn't feel much for basketball in the first place.

The Rockets were originally based in San Diego and joined the NBA in 1967. In 1971 the team was sold and relocated to Houston, a city that preferred a good game of football or baseball to basketball. Despite being a well-playing team, the local support for the team was sparse if any- in fact, a popular joke at the time was that the local churches were pulling in more people than the Rockets.

Still, the team decided to work on improving their game and called in Coach Winters to help- Winters initiated the Triple Post Offensive system of playing which unfortunately did not help the team and he soon stepped down. It was only under Coach Egan that the Rockets would make the playoffs and hold their own against some of the NBA's strongest teams. As a result, the team began to earn tremendous respect on the home front. The Rockets had everything going for them with a line up to die for but things began to go wrong in the '77-'78 season when one of their best players became permanently injured during a fight on court. The Rockets would also sink into last place with their season record.

After an intermittent period of good playing, the Rockets dipped again in the '82-'83 season, clocking in the worst season record in the NBA that year. But things changed and fast- after a new set of players entered the fray, the Rockets were able to turn things around and by the '85-'86 season, they had chalked up 48 victories. The Rockets would win the Western Conference championships but fall to the Celtics in the finals.

During the '94-'95 season the Rockets started out by struggling but they managed to pick up their game very quickly- they clinched the championships, becoming the first team to win from a sixth seeded position. The following season saw the rise of the Rockets' own Big Three set of players who helped the team to a number of wins. However the team would begin to struggle more and more and by the new millennium, the Rockets' future was looking very dim, plagued by injuries and loss of inspiration. This reflected in a dip in the team's respect and faith in the team began to drop dramatically.

After a few smart trades the Rockets have managed to get back on their feet and they have an impressive set of talented players on their roster. Don't miss your chance to watch them play live- get to your online ticket vendor now and book your tickets to see the Houston Rockets on the courts!
