Check out the latest buzz on the basketball courts with tickets to see the New Orleans Hornets live in action! A relatively new team to the NBA circuit, the Hornets have been slated as the underdogs by some- after a series of unimpressive seasons, the Hornets have picked up their game of late, sparkling in a number of plays and setting themselves as a team with a bright future in the NBA.

The Hornets originally belonged to the city of Charlotte and the team first hit the courts in 1988. The team did moderately well due to the presence of a number of strong players. In 2002, the Hornets became involved in a sticky situation with the owner George Shinn not only trading off key players but also threatening to move the team to a more lucrative venue. The team eventually did relocate to New Orleans and the city of Charlotte got their own team together, the Bobcats.

The Hornets played their first game under their new name in 2002 against the Utah Jazz, the first NBA regular game to be held in New Orleans in 23 years. The Hornets managed to end the season by qualifying for the playoffs- though the following seasons started off rocky, the Hornets managed to get along with moderate success.

The Hornets were shifted to the Southwestern Conference and once again failed to find their footing, threatening to gain the record for worst season from the 76ers. A revamping process was set in motion, trading older players for younger, edgier players to inject new blood into the team. Unfortunately none of the new additions made any significant impact and the result was seen in audience attendance, which reached all-time lows during the 2004-2005 season.

It would take a catastrophe to bring the best out of the Hornets- when Katrina hit, the team was forced to temporarily relocate to Oklahoma City. There was a marked improvement in the team's performance- even though the Hornets lost one of their key players due to a drug violation, the team managed to pull it together enough to briefly launch themselves into the sixth seeded position. A run of spirited playing that showed a rare passion on the side of the Hornets began to pay off. In retrospect the Hornets did not make the playoffs, nor did they manage to gain a winning season record but in relative terms, the improvement on the part of the Hornets was nothing short of phenomenal.

The improvement was reflected in the boost in audience attendance and fans are eager to see the Hornets in action once again! Don't miss your chance to catch the buzz too- contact your online ticket vendor now and order your tickets to see the New Orleans Hornets live in action!
