Chattanooga, is the 4th largest city in the United States, is a beautiful city located in Southeast Tennessee close to the border of Georgia. Basketball is a very popular sport in this region and has thousands of enthusiasts. The city is at the junction of four highways. Chattanooga has continuously received recognition for the resurgence of its stunning downtown and praiseworthy redevelopment of the riverfront. The city can boast of one of the most productive and inexpensive housing program in the whole nation. Chattanooga was the first US cities which in effect used a good citizen visioning process aimed to set specific long range goals for enriching the lives of residents and visitors.

The University of Tennessee located at Chattanooga is a state model for the many metropolitan universities. It offers students, in collaboration with many regional partners; a very learning and experiential environment, combined with outstanding teachers in all programs i.e. bachelor's, master's, and doctoral. The famous school's athletic teams are well known as the Mocs. This nickname evolves from the Moccasin Bend, which is a sharp bend in famous Tennessee River which flows west of the city.

Until the year 1996 the teams were called Moccasins. During the times of 60s and 70s, there existed a moccasin shoe also known as "The Shoe" which was in reality used as the school's mascot. Then from 1970s till the year1996, the mascot was Chief Moccanooga, which was an exaggerated Cherokee tribesman.

In the year 1996, due to large concerns over ethnic compassion, the name Moccasins was dropped, and what was adopted was the name the Mocs. At the same time a new mascot, called "Scrappy," which was an anthropomorphized mocking bird wearing clothes as a railroad engineer, was also adopted at the same time. The school's key athletic logo depicts Scrappy riding a train, which is a reference to the place's history as a major railroad hub as well to the song "Chattanooga Choo Choo. Funnily the mascot is named after the former football coach by the name of A.C. "Scrappy" Moore. The very popular Mocs basketball program has always enjoyed the tremendous support of the Moc Maniac, this is the person who works on the loudspeaker at home games and also travels along with the team to post play season tournaments.

The university is the house to the McKenzie Arena which is an 11,218-seat multi purpose stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This arena opened in the year 1982. It can as well accommodate concerts in addition to the sports events, built with a 64*48-foot stage with a capacity of 7,463 people for side stage shows, 11,557 center-stage shows and 9,107 end-stage. This team has been one of the most famous sporting teams in the United States. So do not miss this for anything. Also available now-Online bookings.
