The HP Pavilion is also the home San Jose Sharks which participates in the National Hockey League. The San Jose Saber cats went on winning the 2002 and 2004 ArenaBowl champions beating the hot favorite Arizona Rattlers. The San Jose Sabercats' jersey colors are Gold and Green.

But unfortunately the team had been fined $20,000 on June 5, 2004 for distributing cowbells in their Quarterfinal Round playoff game against the mighty Tampa Bay Storm. Distributing cowbells without advance approval is cited as a violence by the AFL organizers.
