Catch the biggest wave in college football with tickets to see the Alabama Crimson Tide rock the nation with its pioneering tradition of mind-blowing football. The Tide has almost become synonymous with outstanding college football- what else can you expect from a team that was fortunate enough to learn all about the game from one of the best coaches the game ever had? As with every team, the Tide has indeed had its low points but the high points are far more in number.

The Tide is a proud part of the University of Alabama Athletics program. The team shares two very heated rivalries with Auburn University and the University of Tennessee. Of the two, the enmity with Auburn is by far the hottest, as their rivalry is not strictly limited to football. The two battle it out every year for one of the most electrifying games in college football, the Iron Bowl. The rivalry with Tennessee is not as intense and is usually for the 'Third Saturday in October' title- however differences between the two with regards to football have often spilled outside of the field.

Founded in 1892, the Tide do not simply have the distinction of having the oldest college football program in the country, its tradition is rich with victories and some really smashing football that grew from the depths of a team that at one time, looked quite hopeless. The Tide can proudly boast of 21 SEC Championships, 12 National Championships, 53 Bowl games, 91 All-Americans and 17 Hall of Famers. Some of their former players read like a who's who in the history of the NFL- past Tide players include Joe Namath, Bobby Skelton, Bart Starr, Ken Stabler, Steve Sloan, Johnny Musso and Shaun Alexander, to name a few.

A great deal of the success of the Crimson Tide is due to the efforts of a sterling coach named Paul Bryant who took a team that was struggling in one of the lowest points in its career and took it to nothing short of superstardom. Under Coach Bryant's able hand, the Tide scored twenty-eight consecutive wins, six national championships, 24 bowl games and a total of 323 wins. He was a truly remarkable man, placing emphasis on the overall development of the team and its players- he firmly believed that winning did not simply lie in the physical aspect but was also in the characters of the players.

Today, despite the marring effects of some NCAA probations and penalties, the Tide are still going strong and look ready to make an impact in the coming season. Though the current line-up seems mainly filled with juniors, they are a talented lot that are keen to play some serious college ball.
