If you're feeling the heat, it's just the Arizona State Sun Devils burning up the football field and you just can't afford to miss this action. The Devils have always made an amazing impression on the field as a spirited team that is tough to beat. Now more than ever, the Devils look poised to make some noise and raise the temperature this football season.
Part of the Arizona State University Athletics team, the Devils have a rich tradition of wins and victories that are both memorable and well-deserved. A team distinguished by their spirited and hard-driving plays, the Devils are best known as an offensive team with a keen edge that has given them the winning drive over other teams. Little wonder then that the Devils have a number of conference championship titles under their belts as well as eleven Bowl Game victories and a number of the most talented players on the circuit today. The Devils are a regular feature in the preseason rankings, appearing eighteen times and peaking at the number three spot in 1976. They have featured twice in the top ten teams rankings. As far as post-season polls go, the Devils have ranked seventeen times, peaking at an impressive number two spot in 1975.
The Devils have also had the honor and distinction of having a number of fine coaches leading them in the past, the most notable being Frank Kush who held the reigns for a whopping twenty-two seasons, leading the team to a mind-blowing 176 wins, just 54 losses and one tie Under Kush, the Devils played some of its best football and have the numbers to prove what a strong team they were and what tremendous potential lay within them.
Today's Devils team is no less talented or aggressive than the winning teams of the past. With a roaring offensive line-up that is nothing short of a powerhouse and an agile and athletic defense, the team looks ready to bring it on in style on the field. The Devils finished the 2005 season on a high note and are looking to do some serious damage in 2006, as the Devils are definitely in the running for another Pacific 10 title win. Coach Koetter sees immense potential in the current line up and is confident they will deliver. In retrospect, Koetter says that there was a lot that was going well for the team but there was a lot that needed work as well and the team is now ready to make those victories happen.
It's going to be some slash and burn Arizona style so make sure you're there to see that hot football action when it hits the field. Get to your online ticket vendor today and order your tickets to see the Arizona State Sun Devils live in action!
