If you are looking for tickets to see some really high-flying college football, then you need to get your tickets to see the Bowling Green Falcons play live! The Falcons have been having a pretty successful run so far, notching up some impressive wins as well as some remarkable season scores as well. The Falcons may well be looking to push the tempo a bit this season and make some real magic happen on the field.
The Falcons football team is affiliated to the Bowling Green State University athletics program and their colors are orange and brown. Part of the Mid-American Conference, the Falcons share an impressive rivalry with the University of Toledo who are known as the Rockets. Though this rivalry covers a variety of sporting events, the most popular and heated is the football game known as the Battle of I-75, which is usually televised nationally. The winner takes home the Peace Pipe, which is a Native American peace pipe on a wooden tablet.
The Falcons have done themselves proud recently, really putting their hearts and souls into the game and thus proving themselves a real force to contend with on the field. The 2005 season ended on a high note with the Falcons bringing in six wins and five losses. This is the fifth consecutive winning season that the Falcons have posted as well as the fourth longest winning streak in the history of Bowling Green State University. The Falcons have yet another feather in their cap- they have also posted the most number of wins in a five year period, 43.
With a number of records and accolades to their name, the Falcons are prepped and ready to take on the new season with a vengeance and hope to make some big wins this time. Last season the Falcons got a piece of the MAC title and were ranked 21 and 23 by reputed publications The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated. The Falcons have also been fortunate enough to have some sparkling talent on the team, including names like Mike Thaler, Omar Jacobs, Antonio Smith and Jelani Jordan. The defensive line-up in particular has been honored for their fine performances with a number of MAC East Player of the Week Awards.
Since 2001, the Falcons have an impressive overall record of 43 wins and just 17 losses. They also have 29 MAC wins and 12 non-conference wins to their name. On home turf, the Falcons have had 23 wins and just five losses while on the road, they have clocked in 18 wins and 12 losses.
