Are you ready to see a real powerhouse of a college football team take to the field and live up to their long legacy of championships and titles? Then you need to get your tickets to see the Colorado Buffaloes set the turf on fire live. The Buffaloes come from a rich tradition of college football that is well over a hundred years old and many of those years were spent bringing in the big wins.

The Buffaloes football team is affiliated to the University of Colorado's athletics program. Their colors are actually silver and gold, a combination that was adopted in 1888 as a salute to the mineral wealth of the state. However the teams started using black and yellow instead, since silver and gold looked like dirty white and dirty yellow on the uniforms. The teams have two mascots- a real buffalo called Ralphie that leads the football onto the field and Chip, the costumed mascot.

The Buffaloes share a strong rivalry with two universities; Nebraska and Colorado State. The rivalry with Nebraska is relatively new, started in the early nineties by Coach McCartney who claimed that if the Buffaloes could beat a powerhouse like Nebraska then they would be a team worth contending with. Nebraska never took the Buffaloes seriously as rivals until 2001 when they were burned in a 62-36 thrashing that was televised all across the country. This rivalry has spilled over into other sports as well. The Buffaloes' other rival, Colorado State lies in close proximity to the University of Colorado so the rivalry often translates to bragging rights. The Buffaloes have two main fight songs for their games- CU Fight Song and Alma Mater.

With the arrival of new coach Dan Hawkins who entered the scene in 2006, the Buffaloes are hoping to regain some lost ground and get a new sense of energy and direction which could do the Buffaloes' line of attack a world of good. Currently the offensive line seems to be dragging and during the spring game, the Buffaloes were only able to make two touchdowns off of 21 possessions. The good news is that the coach has already begun to shake things up, most importantly bringing the Buffaloes' best asset Mason Crosby up front. Hawkins is already credited with making the Boise State offensive one of the most effective in the nation so undoubtedly, things will be turning around for the Buffaloes this season. Despite having a number of players out with injuries during spring practice, the Buffaloes are hopeful to pull in some memorable wins this season.
