Todd replaces Alfred Beard, who stepped down March 28 after a 4-26 season, the Bears’ worst record since a 3-25 record in 2001. “With the recent improvements to MSU’s infrastructure and the development of a marketing platform in mind, the addition of Todd Bozeman will hopefully be viewed years from now as the turning point in the history of Morgan State’s basketball program,” said Kerr. Bozeman brings 15 years of coaching experience, three NCAA Tournament berths, and at the age of 29 was the youngest head coach ever in the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. The 42-year old comes to Morgan after spending the last eight years out of college coaching following an NCAA infraction at the University of California. Alfred “Butch” Beard, head coach of the Morgan State University men’s basketball team, announced that he is resigning his position effective immediately. “I would like to thank Morgan State University for the opportunity to coach the men’s basketball team for the last five years,” said Beard. “In addition, I would like to thank all the past and present student athletes for their hard work and dedication.”
Beard has been head coach at Morgan State since 2001. “I am leaving Morgan State to pursue other opportunities and wish Morgan State and its basketball program success in the future.”Morgan State set to host National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships. The 40th USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships will be held at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. The USATF Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships is the most visible youth athletic development program in the world. Many of today's Olympic stars began their track and field careers competing in the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. Over 6,000 athletes are expected to converge on Baltimore for the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. Entry for this championship is based on athlete performances at preliminary, Association, and Regional levels of the 2006 USATF Junior Olympic Program. Competition takes place in five two-year age divisions, with athletes generally falling between the ages of 8 and 18. In addition, this year's meet will serve as one of the selection pool competitions for the 2007 IAAF World Youth Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic. A report says.
