Don't get fooled by that name- these guys are no quacks when it comes to playing hardnosed college football and you can grab a slice of that sizzling action with tickets to see the Oregon Ducks live on the field. The Ducks have been putting together some pretty impressive ball for the last few seasons and look to be serious contenders for some big title wins.

The Oregon Ducks football team is affiliated to the athletics program of the University of Oregon. Their colors are green and yellow and their mascot is a duck that looks very similar to Donald Duck. The duck is sometimes referred to as Puddles, Donald or simply the duck. The mascot grew from a series of duck cartoons that were seen at football games during the early part of the century. Since then the mascot has come to resemble Donald Duck and the University has the permission of Walk Disney to use the likeness.

One very visible factor that sets the Ducks apart from other teams is their uniforms- they are famous for using a number of different combinations and colors and last season, the team used no less than 9 different color combinations. For the new season, the Ducks have announced a new set of colors and combinations that will result in no less than forty-eight uniform sets to choose from. True, the Ducks were voted on espn.com as having the ugliest uniforms in college football but when you've got an outstanding winning season record under belt, it's all just water off of a duck's back.

The Ducks did indeed finish the 2005 season with a phenomenal 10-1 winning record, their best since 2001. This should have been enough to get them a ticket to the BCS Bowl but unfortunately there were no bids available for Oregon. The result of this was the teams that had a much worse season record were given berths while the Ducks were not, an omission that raised much complaint and ire among the fans. The fire was further flamed by accusations that TV ratings had hurt the Ducks' chances in the BCS, a claim that was put to rest by an article in The Wall Street Journal that categorically showed that Oregon brought in the highest ratings for college football during bowl games.

But situations like these can't keep a team like the Ducks down. With Belotti at the helm, the Ducks are looking to be a serious force to contend with this season and fans can be assured of some truly phenomenal football action that will keep them more than satisfied.
