Hallmark Skaters Championship was organized as as a two day event in 2001. The venue for the event was Washington D.C. on 7th and 8th December . While in the following year it was held for one day only in Columbus on 14th December. Hallmark Skaters Championship has been an event which has featured world renowned figure skaters from America, Japan, Canada, Russia and many more countries. Born on 21st August, 1969 in Quebec, Josée Chouinard is a well known figure skater from Canada. She has been the proud representative of her country at many international events. She has been the Canadian Ladies Championship for three times. She made her country proud when she defeated the present figure skating champion of the world Lu Chen to win the Skate International of France.

From Japan came the famous figure skater Takeshi Honda. Though he was first interested in short track speed skating he later evolved in a superb figure skater. He has been the winner of the first Four Continents Champion in 1999 and achieved the feat of being the smallest Senior National Champion in his country.

From the United States of America came the legendary figure skater Todd James Eldredge. Todd Eldredge is one of the pioneers in skating as he has six national championships to his name including a world title.

Another great figure skater of the world has been Brian Orser from Canada. His career stats read the fugues of two medals in Olympic, eight titles in his home country and a world title. He has been twice a silver medalist at the Winter Olympics.

On 18th June, 1966 a star figure skater in the world of skating was born in Canada named Kurt Browning. An extremely popular personality in the 1980's and1990s he has been a very gifted skater from Canada. For four times has been the world champion as well as the champion in his country.

After Canada and United States, Russia has also been an important country in producing some great figure skaters. One of them have been Alexei Konstantinovich Yagudin winner of numerous titles and championships. He has won World Championship for four times and three times European Championship including an Olympic title to his name.

Yuka Sato has been a famous Japenese figure skater. She established herself on the international platform after winning the title of World Junior in 1990. She has been credited for defeating world champions like Nancy Kerrigan and Lu Chen.

From France came the well known figure skater Philippe Candeloro. He has been very successful figure skater by performing in many tours and competitions. A known personality in America also he has done many tours in Europe also.
