Barefoot in the Park was premiered in 1963. Since then, this show has been enjoyed by many. This incredible show is a sweet classic romantic comedy. The plot deals with an unusual couple; this hugely popular show has been enthralling the audiences for more than forty years, now. The soft story is very well woven around a so called conservative and young lawyer Paul Bratter and his high-spirited newlywed wife Corie. The whole show moves around the life of this couple as they endeavor to adapt themselves to a smallish walk-up apartment in the suburbs of the Greenwich Village. This humorous ride takes a huge turn when the couple finds themselves in the middle of a complicated situation. This unusual couple is quite different from each other as husband wants to keep a low profile; but his wife has her own thoughts. Ultimately, they have to accept the true colors of the life; after their giddy honeymoon at the plaza. In order to find the elusive happiness, both strive and that?s where the fun lies.

This time two hot Hollywood favorite stars are playing the lead roles of Paul Bratter and Corie; Amanda Peet and Patrick Wilson are the two stars in these memorable roles. Amanda Peet is a hugely popular star for her big hits like "The Whole Nine Yards," and "Something's Gotta Give." Amanda has also starred in "This Is How It Goes by Neil LaBute." Patric Wilson is also a hugely famous star and he has also earned himself a nomination in the prestigious "Tony Awards" for his excellent work in "The Full Monty" and "Oklahoma." Patric has also starred in the famous show "Phantom of the Opera." Corie's mother has been played by Jill Calyburgh and Tony Roberts has been in the role of eccentric upstairs neighbor, Victor Velasco.

This show has been directed by the very highly acclaimed director Neil Simon. Neil has already directed many memorable show including "The Women and Hurlybury." The show offers every chance to make audience laugh with dialogues, situations and with some retro music. The Show has been rated as full of energy and humor by many known critics. Amazing retro tones of the '60s are very well blended with the flow of the play including some humming folk hits.

Superb unusual characters are very well presented to make people laugh heartily. Corrie has been impulsive throughout the whole play, Paul has been consistently arrow straight, Victor Velasco always want to move fast with his flamboyant behavior; Corie's mother is quite thinking woman with lots to say. This very good combination of unusual behaviours adds some extra spice to this laughter ride. This version of the play is a daring endeavor to modernize Simon's play. This modern version takes place in the '90s, instead of in '60s, when it was written. This has been nicely done with costumes and sets being altered accordingly. Beautiful set is designed by Derek Mclane. Lighting designs are very well contributed by Jason Lyons and mind-blowing sound designs are contributed by Ken Travis. This incredible show has been performing at the famous?Cort Theater.? The show has already nominated for four prestigious Tony Awards.
