She is spirited away to Havana and what follows is a tangled web of jealousy, murder and passion delivered with dramatic consequences.

The reason for this tremendous success is the musical itself- it all began as a simple song, Copacabana, that even the record company would not release as a single but fans clamored for it on the radio, leading to Barry Manilow's very first Grammy. And still people felt there was some enigmatic magic to the song that was crying to be let out- this led to the made for TV musical that went on to garner an Emmy award.
