The Best Little Whorehouse is a sordid story of two girls in the brothel. Its theme is based on the age-old issue of public law vs. private behavior. The story revolves round the various humane aspects of society like unemployment, molestation, parental disgrace, professional friendship and the media frenzy adventure. The Best Little Whorehouse, a stage and film musical, by Larry L. King is based on the true-life Chicken Ranch brothel in Texas. The play begins with two new girls arriving at the brothel. One is an experienced street whore and the other is a novice and often molested by her father. The proprietor, Miss Mona immediately engages both girls. The musical introduces an overly zealous reporter. Melvin Thorpe, a television commentator, is with a watchdog program"Nemisis" to expose social and commercial abuse. In reality Melvin wants a front of exposure to bathe in the limelight. Miss Mona is in a liaison with the local sheriff.

She is preparing for a big bash. An evening at the Chicken Ranch has been fixed as the price for the winner of a football match. Mona tries to have a special Homecoming Dance atmosphere. When Melvin uncovers the illegal activity, political upheavals cause the place to be closed down. The sheriff ditches Mona. In the lustrous world the powerful survives and the destitute has to be victimized in the name of moral policing.
