This is a play about the controversial times gone by of Chavez Ravine. The Chavez ravine is the much forgotten immigrant community that once existed on the place that has now developed into Dodger Stadium which is located in Los Angeles. This time it is being explored with brutal honesty, humor, and some tremendous pulse racing music by the country's premier theatre troupe in Chicano and Latino music, "Culture Clash".No would be likely to having a thought of missing this one for anything. So book your tickets even before you complete reading this review!

With very strong wit and quite a thoughtful insight, this troupe called Culture Clash is successful in bringing to life the very much controversial, but on the other hand very little known legend of how business, politics and a tight-knit community collided all head long, thus bringing Dodger Blue to the city of Los Angeles. Simply saying a must see for all the baseball fans, all people who like to learn the local history and for anyone who truly loves good storytelling!

The Cast of the play includes some famous names like the one and only Culture Clash, and then there is Richard Montoya, along with Ric Salinas, Zilah Mendoza and Herbert Siguenza. This play called Chavez Ravine is a work of semi fictional description about a lost Los Angeles Hispanic neighborhood population, which is narrated by some of its extant musicians, in the form of songs from that time. This is through new compositions by the Cooder who is a native of Angeleno, amazingly, by 90 something Frank Wilkinson. Wilkinson was a municipal housing official who was jailed for anti American activities during the Fifties, this was the time when he tried to build some housing for the truly poor.

The serene, if down-at-heel Latino commune was bulldozed so as to accommodate the Dodgers baseball stadium. A beautifully executed musical with superb music and excellent story build up.

Storytelling has become an immensely popular pastime among the American musicians which are of a certain age and status. Better than any of these is Chavez Ravine, this latest project from culture clash. This play Chavez Ravine unfolds its story in a very sinuous manner, totally concentrating on the kind of life that was lived in Forties Chavez. This play is a superb point of view that too in a humorous and funny way about the racial hatred for the Hispanic community living in the United States. A must watch for one and all. Do not miss this for anything. Limited tickets available, so book yours now. Online booking is also available for hassle free and easy booking.
